During formatting i have used quick format because if i choose long format,again it hangs abruptly. My daughter also did the same - she has an older Dell with less RAM, etc and her windows xp slowed down to a crawl about the same time. More about the author

I have had excellent assistance the two other times I posted to bleepingcomputer.com, and I am hopeful someone out there is listening/reading and has the time or expertise to think of My computer flies now like new.
