Plus it only cost me $40 compared to $299 for 7 Ultimate. I sometimes feel like I work in the only non-Microsoft location on Earth where users actually embraced the Start Screen on non-touch desktops and laptops. my review here
If they add a start button and a default to "desktop" this would be one of their best OSs, but forcing to metro will make it a fail. You see that when you add a user and assign the rights. BUT!!! Why it's not the DEFAULT BEHAVIOR, I'll never understand.

It seems the App bar for the Start Screen is gone in Windows 8.1 Update 1. Modern App improvements Throughout The New Interface, the Windows team also made some tweaks. As fast as windows 8.1 is it is still slow because it is slowing the user down making things harder and more clicks to accomplish the same goals. If you cant figure out which start replacement to install then you are too stupid to own a computer.
