Why is writing your own encryption discouraged? I suggest trying another internet browser first and see if you can get to the internet that way. Maybe this is linked, but i'm having to write this on a different PC because the Mozilla webpages don't display properly in IE (all the other sites I can find display Are you still having problems using IE8 and/or Firefox? If so, disable the Browser Protection setting in NIS as described in message # 22 to see if that helps with either browser. Worked for me. Firefox has it's own settings so it works if your having that problem.

I am uninstalling firefox now and will try a new download from the website plus I think I'll add chrome for good measure...................I hate updates sometimes................ It started when I was infected with one of those fake virus scanner programs - XP Defender 2010 (av.exe).
